Trichloroacetic Acid, often referred to as, TCA is a type of chemical peel, used to exfoliate and renew the skin on different levels. From superficial to high level it is one of the strongest peels available and known for giving excellent results. This peel is recommended for most skin types, particularly normal to oily skin.
The purpose of this peel is to improve the appearance and texture of the skin, fine lines, wrinkles and acne scars, also to even skin tone. These chemical peels are highly effective in promoting skin smoothness and vitality also great treatment for sun damage skin.
Please inform us of any condition that may have bearing on this peel such as: pregnancy, recent facial surgery, allergies, cold sores or use of topical or oral medications: Tretinoin, Retin-A, Accutane, Differin, Tazorac.
The first step in this treatment is to clean the skin and use a toner. The next step would be to degrease the skin by using a medical grade degreaser on the area of your skin you want to apply the peel. This step will not only remove the surface oil to enhance the peel penetration but also kill bacteria. This step is optional if you have sensitive skin.
The next step will be to apply the peel, the length of time the peel remains on the skin will vary according with how strong the peel is and the sensitivity of the patients skin. The skin is then neutralized with water or a neutralizer that comes along with the specific peel.
The last step in this process will be the application of moisturizer and sunscreen SPF 30.
